FLorida Singing sons president
Welcome to the Florida Singing Sons 2022-2023 Season. This will truly be a wonderful year as we are now experiencing growth in the organization. We are excited to continue our tradition of exceptional music education in South Florida.
Our Artistic staff continues to strengthen under the leadership of Artistic Director Daniel Bates. In his fourth year, Mr. Bates remains focused on recruiting and rebuilding the choirs post-Covid. This year, he launched a new choir, Chorale Soleil, within Florida Singing Sons. Chorale Soleil is an ensemble of high school students of all genders that performs master works. Malcolm Rogers, our Florida Singing Sons alumnus and Associate Artistic Director, continues to direct our Apprentice Choir and is now leading our Concert Choir. Christopher Toth continues as our talented accompanist.
Collaboration and fun are the themes for this season. We are getting back to our family gatherings, choir camps, and community outings. We plan to share our music with the South Florida community and other artistic groups in the coming months. To date, we have performances scheduled with New World Symphony, Florida Atlantic University, and Miami Children’s Chorus.
I am honored to serve as President this season. Last May, my son, Andrew, became a Florida Singing Sons alumnus after nine years in the choir. He joined the many Florida Singing Sons alumni, near and far, who have benefitted from this 48-year old organization. We look forward to seeing and hearing from our alumni.
