Apprentice Choir
Grades 2–5 | Boys | Tuesdays, 5:30–7 PM
Apprentice Choir is the starting point for boys in grades 2–5 who are beginning their choral journey with Florida Singing Sons. Choristers build foundational skills in vocal technique, music reading, music theory, aural skills, and ensemble singing while exploring a wide variety of musical styles.
This ensemble provides a supportive introduction to choral singing and performance, helping young singers build confidence, musical skills, and friendships along the way.
No audition required.
Concert Choir
Grades 5–8 | Boys with unchanged voices | Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6–8 PM
Concert Choir is for boys in grades 5–8 whose voices have not yet changed. Singers continue developing vocal technique, sight-singing, music theory, and ensemble skills while preparing challenging repertoire for concerts, professional collaborations, and special performances.
Concert Choir rehearses twice weekly and performs both as a treble ensemble and alongside the Second Generation Singers in SATB repertoire. Members may also participate in FSS summer tours.
Audition required for placement.
Second Generation Singers
Grades 8–12 | Changed Voices | Wednesdays, 6–8:30 PM
Second Generation Singers is FSS's ensemble for boys in grades 8–12 whose voices have changed. As singers move through this important stage of vocal development, they continue advanced training in vocal technique, sight-singing, music theory, and ensemble performance while exploring challenging SATB repertoire.
Second Generation Singers perform throughout the season in concerts, professional collaborations, community events, and special performances. Members may also participate in FSS summer tours and serve as musical role models for younger choristers.
A highlight of the ensemble is Jam Session, a student-led musical group directed each year by the Head Chorister. Singers choose, arrange, and perform music that reflects their own voices and creativity, incorporating vocals, instruments, and original arrangements. Jam Session provides a relaxed, peer-led space for leadership, collaboration, and artistic expression.

Chorale Soleil
Grades 9–12 | Girls | Wednesdays, 6–8:30 PM
Chorale Soleil is FSS's ensemble for girls in grades 9–12. Singers develop their vocal technique, musicianship, sight-singing, and ensemble skills while performing a diverse repertoire as an all-female ensemble and in combination with other FSS choirs.
Chorale Soleil rehearses alongside the Second Generation Singers and regularly collaborates with other FSS ensembles for mixed-voice repertoire. Members may also perform in professional collaborations and participate in FSS summer tours.
